Running a business in Trentino? There's €9,000 in non-repayable grants waiting for you

If you run a business in the Province of Trento, here's news that concerns you: the Trento Chamber of Commerce has just published the ESG, Energy and Digital Grant 2026. In simple terms: you can receive up to €9,000 as a non-repayable grant — money you don't have to pay back — to invest in digitalization, sustainability or energy efficiency for your business.

The total budget is €550,000. That's not unlimited: when it runs out, it's gone. And the application window is only 5 days, from May 18 to 22, 2026.

In this guide we explain everything you need to know: who can apply, what's funded, how to submit your application, and how to make the most of this opportunity.

What is the ESG, Energy and Digital Grant 2026

The grant is promoted by the Digital Enterprise Point (PID) of the Trento Chamber of Commerce. It's a non-repayable contribution designed to help Trentino businesses invest in three strategic areas:

  1. Digitalization — consulting and training on digital technologies
  2. ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) — sustainable development and certification paths
  3. Energy efficiency — improvements to production sites and work processes

You don't need to invest in all three: your project just needs to fall within at least one of these areas.

Key figures:

  • Maximum grant: €9,000 per business
  • Type: Non-repayable (no payback required)
  • Total budget: €550,000
  • Application period: May 18-22, 2026
  • Platform: Restart (new submission method)

Who can apply

The grant is reserved for businesses registered with the Trento Chamber of Commerce. If your business is based in the Autonomous Province of Trento and you're registered in the Business Register, you can apply.

This includes:

  • Artisans and workshops
  • Shops and retail businesses
  • Restaurants, bars and hospitality
  • Professional offices
  • Small manufacturing companies
  • Cooperatives and startups

Note: always check the specific requirements on the official grant page, as there may be additional criteria related to sector or business size.

What it funds: three areas with practical examples

Digitalization

This is the most relevant area for most businesses. The grant covers consulting and training on digital technologies, for example:

  • Website creation or redesign — a professional site that brings customers, not a static showcase
  • CRM adoption — to manage clients, quotes and follow-ups in an organized way
  • Process automation — electronic invoicing, order management, online bookings
  • Digital training — courses for you and your team on tools like Google Workspace, social media marketing, e-commerce
  • Strategic consulting — an expert who analyzes your business and identifies where digital can save you time and money

Practical example: a restaurant in Rovereto that wants to implement an online booking system, a digital menu with QR codes, and automated Google review management. With €9,000 in grants, they can cover consulting, setup and staff training.

Want to know how much a website costs for your business? This grant can cover most of the expense.

ESG and Sustainability

If you want to make your business more sustainable, the grant funds:

  • Certification paths — ISO 14001 (environment), SA 8000 (social responsibility), sustainability reports
  • ESG consulting — environmental and social impact analysis, improvement strategies
  • Training — sustainability courses for management and employees

Sustainability isn't just an ethical issue: more and more customers, suppliers and banks evaluate businesses based on ESG criteria. Having certification can open doors that were previously closed.

Energy efficiency

For businesses looking to reduce energy costs:

  • Energy audit — a professional analysis of your consumption and where you can save
  • Efficiency consulting — improvements to systems, production processes, lighting, climate control
  • Training — best practices for reducing energy waste

Practical tip: if your energy bill is a significant expense, an energy audit is the first step. It costs relatively little and often identifies savings of 15-25% on consumption. With this grant, the audit cost is almost entirely covered.
